Project Info
Creative development of one of the world’s largest public art masterplans. I was part of the international team that developed one of the world’s largest public art masterplans, the Riyadh Landmark Art Master Plan. This visionary master plan outlines an ambitious strategy to deliver 1000 landmark artworks for the city and people of Riyadh. Designed to carpet the entire city with artistic interventions, the project consists of ten individual permanent public art programs and one annual light festival; curated to make every place, built or natural, extraordinary, interactive and welcoming to all.
I led the creative development of the masterplan, from planning and design of the publication set up and structure, to the facilitation of creative workshops and management of all production milestones and check-in points.
Commissioned by RDA, the Riyadh Development Authority
In collaboration with UAP (Urban Art Projects), HWKN (NY) and Futurecity (UK)
Year: 2018

Urban Art Lab is a catalyst to inspire dialogue with the community about culture, art and the creative economy. Touring pavilions, digital artworks and curated programming will open-up a world of creativity for all, building audiences for the Riyadh Interactive Landmark Art program.

Artists and designers will re-imagine traditional playgrounds and urban elements to create vibrant and bold social spaces that merge color, art and play to enhance local neighborhoods and support the well-being of the community.

The Welcoming Gateways program creates major destination experiences that announce a grand arrival into the city of Riyadh. A suite of massive artwork interventions, on key access routes to the city, will activate vast expanses of landscape or straddle highways to deliver legacy landmarks and unique tourist attractions.

The Hidden River Illuminated Bridges program will commission digital lighting installations that will illuminate the largest and most impressive bridge structures along the wadis, providing opportunities for artistic experimentation and social gathering.

The Hidden River Art Trail is the launchpad for an ambitious art program and sculpture trail that will highlight and invite exploration of the wadis’ natural attractions, encouraging outdoor activity and supporting health and well-being.
